What Is the Immigration Medical Exam (I-693)?
The Immigration Medical Exam is a required health evaluation used by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to determine whether an applicant meets the medical eligibility requirements for lawful permanent residence.
The exam ensures applicants:
Do not have communicable diseases of public health significance
Are up to date on required vaccinations
Meet USCIS health standards for immigration benefits
Once completed, your results are documented on Form I-693 and placed in a sealed envelope to be submitted to USCIS.
